Introductions are in order

I hate to be cliche, but welcome to the place on the internet that I call my own. Pardon the emptiness shiny brand new-ness. My goal is to have somewhere to share with the world the amazing things that I can produce by being the best me that there ever will be. The inspiration and final kick in the pants that I needed to actually create this website came from a fantastic book that I am reading, titled You Are a Badass: How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life by Jen Sincero:

Nobody who ever accomplished anything big or new or worth raising a
celebratory fist in the air did it from their comfort zone.

While listening to the audiobook, narrated by Sincero herself, I decided that I done enough dreaming about becoming an awesome and successful crochet and knit designer, and that I should get a move on already. The first step I decided to take was to create this very website that you have by some miracle managed to find, and to start writing stuff already.

I am not a big fan of writing, but if I want to share with the world my designs, I need to get good at it. I also want this ‘blog’ to be a record of my journey, with personal content thoughtfully separated from the rest, in solidarity with those people who just want the patterns already. (Side Note: I do love my run-on sentences, since that’s how I talk as well. So if that bothers you, take comfort in the fact that I am working on it, although its a slow process.)

So, Introductions. My name is Jordan, and I live in the Midwest of the United States, an hour from the nearest LYS (Local Yarn Store). Around Christmas of 2016, I decided that I needed a hobby. With not much to go on except that I wanted to be able to work with my hands and not go into debt, I ordered a cheap set of crochet hooks and bought some value yarn at a big box store. The moment I made my first wobbly ‘square’ was the moment I fell in love with the intricate and magical action of transforming string into something.

Since then I have expanded my abilities (and my stash, and my hook collection, and my general love of yarn and fiber and everything soft and cuddly) to a point where I can safely state that I love yarn. I look forward to amazing such feats as: making socks, knitting, finishing a blanket for once, and hopefully putting a smile on a few people’s faces.

I’m glad to have you, and I hope you come back soon!
